Jersey Telecom fined £90,000 for island-wide shutdown

The Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority (JCRA) has imposed a £90,000 fine on Jersey Telecom (JT) after technical issues caused a shut down of the network in the summer of 2020.
 
During the disruption, customers using the network could not access internet or mobile services, including calls to 999 and emergency services. Thankfully, it appears that no lives were lost as a result of the network issues…

Samsung and VMO2 begin live 4G/5G deployments

Deutsche Telkom preparing to sell stake in tower biz

Towards the end of 2021, Deutsche Telekom’s CEO, Timotheus Höttges, announced during an investor conference that he was interested in finding a partner for the company’s tower business, with media reports later suggesting that a stake sale in the unit was imminent.
